Overview
September brings our second monthly iNaturalist meetup, and this month we're headed to McAllister Park, one of San Antonio's largest urban wild spaces, with hundreds of acres and miles of trails.
Join us on Saturday, September 5, from 9 to 11 am, at Pavilion 1 (Al Becken), 13102 Jones Maltsberger, San Antonio, Texas 78247, led by Robert Doyal and Jane Weeden.
Event Schedule
We'll start with the latest news from iNat, then introduce our region's newest iNat Ambassadors. And, as part of our San Antonio Should Know series, we'll share identification cheat codes for the Eastern Cottontail.
After that, we'll break into small groups and hit the trails together, phones and cameras ready, to see what we can find and document along the way. New ambassadors will have an opportunity to lead or co-lead one of these small groups. We'll wrap up by discussing observations and working through identifications as a group.
These iNat meetups are open to anyone, and no previous experience is needed.
What to Bring
● Comfortable outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather
● Water and sunscreen
● Smartphone with the iNaturalist app downloaded (or a camera)
