IN:WA is bringing together industry experts to discuss the topic: Are We Doing Enough To Develop The Next Generation Of Talent?
Agency pipelines are thinning. Graduate expectations don't always match reality. And with pressure to do more with less, investing in junior talent can feel like a risk rather than a priority.
It's not. It's the most important investment we can make.
This panel brings together WA industry voices for an honest conversation about what's working, what isn't, and what we can do differently - from the gap between education and agency reality, to structured pathways, to AI quietly removing the entry-level roles juniors have always relied on to get started.
Our Panelists:
We’re bringing together a dynamic lineup of industry leaders with unique perspectives:
- Leigh Wood, Nani Creative & PADC – Co-Founder and Design Director at Nani Creative, Co-President at Perth Advertising and Design Club (PADC), Leigh is an award-winning creative leader with two decades of experience championing inclusion and diversity at the intersection of government, training, and the creative industries.
- Wesley Lim, Curtin University – Senior Lecturer in Marketing and Academic Lead of the Curtin Marketing Clinic, Wesley bridges the gap between university learning and industry practice through real-world client partnerships and experiential education.
- Tim Ewers, North Metropolitan TAFE – A designer and TAFE lecturer with 15+ years of experience, Tim specialises in Human Centred Design and UX, bringing academic rigour and industry practice together to create design solutions built for human understanding.
Light nibbles and a drink token on arrival.
Panel will be moderated by:
Josh Edge, Anthologie (Executive Creative Director)
Josh Edge is an internationally award-winning Executive Creative Director, sometimes-pretend strategist and writer, who has spent the past 20-ish years working on some of Australia’s largest (and smallest) brands, government departments, purpose organisations and NFPs. You can find him at Anthologie, a B-Corp creative impact studio, making a nuisance of himself on the WA Government Creative Industries Taskforce, and occasionally mentoring, tutoring and judging the next generation of creative talent at universities, TAFE and national communication industry programs.
