Hasib Hourani is a Lebanese–Palestinian writer, editor, arts worker and educator living on unceded Wangal Country. He is a 2020 recipient of The Wheeler Centre’s Next Chapter Scheme and his 2021 essay, ‘when we blink’ was shortlisted for the LIMINAL & Pantera Press Nonfiction prize and is published in their 2022 anthology, Against Disappearance. Hasib was awarded the Neilma Sidney Literary Travel Fund in 2022 and has been a fellow at the Varuna National Writers House in 2021 and 2022. Hasib’s debut book, rock flight will be released with Giramondo (AU) in October 2024.
Anne-Marie Te Whiu (Ani) an Australian-born Māori who belongs to the Te Rarawa iwi in Hokianga, Aotearoa NZ. She lives on unceded Gadigal and Wangal land. She is a cultural producer, writer, editor and weaver. Her poems, essays and non-fiction pieces have been published broadly across Australia and Aotearoa NZ. She has edited Woven (Magabala Books), Tony Birch’s Whisper Songs (University of Queensland Press), Bebe Backhouse’s More Than These Bones (Magabala Books) and co-edited Solid Air: Australia & New Zealand Spoken Word (University of Queensland Press). Between 2015 and 2017 she co-directed the Queensland Poetry Festival, and she was a co-director of the writers’ program for the Aotearoa New Zealand International Arts Festival (Wellington — February 2024). Ani’s debut poetry collection titled Mettle will be published by University of Queensland Press in 2025.
