About this Event

An interactive talk exploring how digital collaboration connects and empowers European and Ukrainian women artists, building visibility and creative partnerships across borders in post-conflict contexts.

The aim of the event is to present the results of the Cultural Cooperation Community (CCC) - a digital platform that supports European and Ukrainian female artists through international collaboration in the cultural and creative industries (CCIs).

The presentation will bring together the outcomes of good practice analysis, survey data, co-design sessions, and networking activities with artists from Ukraine and across Europe. It will share findings on artists’ needs for professional visibility, skills development, and sustainable partnerships, and outline replicable models for financial sustainability, digital empowerment, and participatory governance.

Through discussion and audience engagement, the event aims to highlight how digital communities can empower displaced European and Ukrainian women artists, strengthen cultural ties, and inspire new transnational collaborations within Europe’s CCI ecosystem.

Tautvydas Bokmota is a Senior Project Manager and Researcher working at the intersection of culture, social responsibility and sustainability at The Critical, a design and research agency. His work focuses on the application of qualitative research methods, inclusive research and co-creation processes within projects that empower underrepresented communities through (digital) collaboration and participatory design.

With a background in geography, heritage studies and spatial planning (Vilnius University, Utrecht University), and most recently in visual research (Università della Svizzera italiana), Tautvydas brings a cross-disciplinary approach to understanding how culture, space and identity intersect.

He has conducted fieldwork and participatory research in Lithuania, the Netherlands and Rwanda, where he has contributed to the UNLEASH Innovation lab aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. At this event, he will share findings on how digital communities of displaced artists in Europe can foster visibility, solidarity and long-term sustainability.
