In-Studio Production (with David Balsome)

BronxNet’s studio production classes prepare students to produce talk shows and programs in the station’s state-of-the-art studios. Participants receive hands-on training in operating studio cameras, switchers, graphics generators, and audio boards as well as instruction in show planning, set design, and interviewing techniques.
Instructor Biography: David Balsome
David joined BronxNet in 2017 and he brings his, Emmy nominated, AP and NY Press Club award-winning 7 years experience as a Live Television Studio Director with him.
After receiving a BA in Television Production from Buffalo State College he was hired as a Director for a local News station here in New York. Shortly after that, he joined BronxNet, and he has been teaching participants how to successfully operate the studio and control room in order to produce a well-designed show for broadcast.
“After my intense course, students obtain certification, have access to BronxNet studios and production equipment, and are allowed to show their content on air. During the course, I monitor the live-to-tape production, which I feel is harder but will prepare them for when they are on their own. I also give feedback where necessary.”
