Join us for an evening celebrating Wave Books with three acclaimed poets reading from their latest collections! The event will feature Joshua Beckman, Dorothea Lasky, and Edwin Torres.

Joshua Beckman was born in New Haven, Connecticut. (Wave,2026) is his most recent poetry collection. He is the author of many books, including (Wave, 2021), (Wave Books, 2018), , , , , and two collaborations with Matthew Rohrer: and . He is editor-in-chief at Wave Books and has translated numerous works of poetry and prose, including , by Jorge Carrera Andrade, 5 Meters of Poems (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2010) by Carlos Oquendo de Amat, , and Poker (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2004) by Tomaž Šalamun, which was a finalist for the PEN America Poetry in Translation Award. He also co-edited (Wave Books, 2015).

Dorothea Lasky is the author of several poetry books, most recently, MOTHER (Wave Books, 2026) and (Wave Books, 2023). Her other poetry books include: (Wave Books, 2018), Rome (Liveright/W.W. Norton, 2014), (Wave Books, 2012), (Wave Books, 2010), and (Wave Books, 2007). She is also the author of , published in 2019 in the Bagley Wright Lecture Series and (Semiotext(e), 2025), as well as a future book about Sappho. She is the editor of Essays (Essay Press, 2023) and a coeditor of Open the Door: How to Excite Young People About Poetry (McSweeney’s, 2013). Her first novel, Katie, is forthcoming from HarperCollins. Her writing has appeared in Poetry, The New Yorker, American Poetry Review, and The Paris Review, among other places. She holds a doctorate in creativity and education from the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, she is an Associate Professor of Poetry at Columbia University's School of the Arts, where she directs the Poetry program. She lives in New York City.

Edwin Torres is a NYC native and the author of 14 books of poetry, including; Quanundrum: i will be your many angled thing (Roof Books, awarded a 2022 American Book Award), Xoeteox: the infinite word object (Wave Books), Ameriscopia (University of Arizona Press), Yes Thing No Thing (Roof), The PoPedology of an Ambient Language (Atelos Books), In The Function of External Circumstances (Nightboat), and editor of The Body In Language: An Anthology (Counterpath Press). Multi-disciplinary collaborations with a wide range of cultural nomads have contributed to the development of his bodylingo poetics. He has performed worldwide and received fellowships from The Foundation for Contemporary Arts, NYSCA, The DIA Foundation, Arts MidHudson, among others. Anthologies include; New Weathers: Poetics from the Naropa Archives, The Difference Is Spreading: 50 Contemporary Poets on Fifty Poems, Poets In The 21st Century: Poetics of Social Engagement, and Aloud: Voices from The Nuyorican Poets Cafe. He is an Adjunct Poetry Professor at Columbia University and a resident of Beacon, NY.
