Build your confidence by tapping into your ability to express emotions through movement and dance on stage and off
About this Event

Do you feel a disconnect between your mind and your body, whether on stage or off?

Do you hold tension in your body on a day to day basis, but are not sure why?

How we express our emotions, our levels of confidence, and how we move our bodies throughout the world are deeply linked. This in person workshop offers a supportive environment for individuals to step out of their comfort zones and get comfortable moving their bodies.

  • It will explore expressing emotion through our movements and how we can exaggerate that in performances or presentations.
  • It will touch on how to remove self-consciousness to release tension in our bodies, allowing us to move more freely.
  • It will display how moving together as a group creates bonds and lowers our anxiety levels of performing in front of others.

Through a series of engaging activities, exercises, and improvisational games, participants will learn practical techniques to feel more comfortable in their body on and off-stage.

The movement/dance exercises will be light (such as walking around the room), and participants are encouraged to go at their own pace and ability level. There will be accommodations available for those that cannot stand or move around the room freely. There will be no partner dancing or touching of others. As with any movement/exercise, there is inherent risk, so participants will be asked to sign an exercise release form upon arrival.
