About this Event
In this workshop, participants will delve into the intersection of art and emotional intelligence, exploring how artistic expression can deepen self-awareness and enhance interpersonal relationships. Attendees will be guided through multiple artistic exercises (including drawing, collage, etc.), some individual, other group or partner based, digging into the topics of:
- What are my preferences around communication and how I tend to express my emotions?
- What are the differences in approaches, personalities, etc. that others have that impact how I relate to them?
- How can I foster more understanding for others to build better relationships with them?
Not an “artist” - not a problem. This workshop is about the experience of creating art as a learning activity. In our society, we are forced into thinking we can only do things if we are ‘good’ at them and if we ‘produce something.’ The process of creating art has value in and of itself. This workshop welcomes folks of all ability levels.
Through the activities and reflective discussions, participants will learn to better identify and understand their own preferences/tendencies, and be able to start identifying and adapting to others.
All materials for this workshop will be provided and it is free to attend- just bring yourself and an open mind. We ask that participants under the age of 15 have a guardian accompanying them.
