In Person Workshop: An Introduction to Temari with Penny Hill (Cheltenham)
About this Event
Temari is the ancient Japanese art of embroidering thread wound balls. Once made as toys for children, the craft has developed into the creation of stunning art pieces, each stitched ball being a miniature treasure. Despite appearing complex, Temari can be made using very simple stitches.
This workshop will introduce you to the basics of the art, demonstrating the creation of the wound thread ball and teaching you how to add guidelines and use a simple wrapping technique to create your personal work of art.
