Learn the basics of appliqué, including ornamental and versatile techniques!
This class will be taught in-person at 850 Battery Street, San Francisco.
Class length: 3 hours
Skill level: Great for beginners or anyone wishing to brush up on their embroidery skills
Class Description: Learn the basics of appliqué in just three hours! Try out different embroidery techniques in our Technique Taster Series! Each three hour class covers a different technique: crewelwork, needlepainting, goldwork, stumpwork, blackwork, whitework, needlepoint, and appliqué. You will have a choice of two different designs within each technique. This class is a great follow up to our Bite-size Embroidery for Beginners.
Supplies: All materials will be provided to you in class.

About the Educator: Laura has been embroidering for 40+ years specializing in Surface Embroidery. She studied Fine Art at California State University East Bay, and embroidery with the Embroiderers Guild of America as well as San Francisco School of Needlework and Design. Her piece called “Balance” toured the United States and Canada as part of the 2 year Sixteenth National Exhibit with the Embroiderers Guild of America.
She has won numerous awards including “Best in Show” at the California State Fair in Sacramento. While Laura's first love is doing embroidery, her very close second is teaching embroidery. She loves bringing this ancient healing art to students while enjoying the beautiful and growing community at SFSNAD.

Late registration will be accommodated when possible.
Cancellation policy: SNAD will refund tuition less a $25 processing fee up to 3 days (72 hours) prior to class start time. No refunds for cancellations with less than 3 days notification before class start time.
SFSNAD requires a valid ID and proof of vaccination in order to participate in onsite, in-person courses and classes. We also require visitors, students, and guests to wear a well-fitting, non-vented surgical/procedural mask, such as an N95 or KN95 while onsite.
