For Ages 12 - 17Love street art, murals, and graffiti? Get a crash course in this week-long camp led by Atlanta artist and designer Aysha Pennerman!
In this camp we’ll learn about wheatpasting–a technique used by street artists and activists to create posters and prepare work ahead of time for murals. We will also explore the process of designing and creating murals, from sketching and digital drawing through image transference and painting. Everything will come together with a mural piece incorporating wheatpasting, graffiti letters, and mural art.
This camp encourages the legal use of street art aesthetics and mediums and discusses guidelines about where it is OK for young artists, designers, and activists to get creative–and where it is not.
*This in-person summer camp will be held Monday, June 26 - Friday, June 30 and will meet from 9 AM to 12 PM each day at MODA.
