How do we pay attention to our pain without being overwhelmed by it? How do we find healing in our souls when we’ve experienced pain, grief, trauma, and loss? Where does the Truth fit into all of this?
In this training, we’ll be walking through one of the simple frameworks I use with almost all of my clients (the Shapes Model). Developed during my years providing pastoral counseling overseas and honed over the last twelve years, it will help you approach your own and others’ stories with patience, gentleness, and hope.
-----> WHO IS THIS FOR?
The Shapes Model is an integrative approach for clinical, pastoral, and personal care. All are welcome. It helps us to see the parts of our story and how they interact with each other, bringing either pain and distress or healing and peace.
This training will be practical and not clinical in nature; however, clinical and pastoral counselors will benefit from the overarching, integrative approach and the vital differentiation between thought-based and fact-based pain. At various points throughout the training, we will identify where certain clinical approaches and tools could be utilized.
The training will be interactive (although any participation is entirely voluntary), and there will be ample time for questions and answers.
