In Person: Kids as Planet Protectors: An Earth Day Celebration @ 12pm

Who this In Person Event is for:

Ages 2-12. Adult caregivers are required to accompany child participants. Siblings of participants outside this age range are welcome, but may find the event to be less meaningful and fulfilling.

What you’ll be doing:

Earth Day, sponsored by Amazon Web Services, is a wonderful opportunity to show our youngest generation the importance of caring for our environment. We invite you to join us for our Kids as Planet Protectors: An Earth Day Celebration and together we can teach our youth how to be kind to the physical world we all share—and create a greener future for us all.

In partnership with the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, we will have multiple stations to help kids take action in protecting our environment and investing in our planet’s future. Activities will include: tree planting, learning about composting and renewable energy, upcycling activities, window clings to prevent bird strikes, and more. Nonprofit partners, including Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks, COSI, Franklin Park Conservatory, Friends of Olentangy Watershed (FLOW), Nature Dads, Ohio Wildlife Center, Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO), and YAY Bikes! will be on site to educate kids on a variety of environmental stewardship actions.

Note: This event is larger and busier than our standard Seeds of Caring events. Families are invited to explore various activity stations at their own pace.

Specific Instructions:

All supplies will be provided. This is a rain or shine event and stations will be indoors and outdoors so please dress appropriately for the weather.
