A Note About Ticket Types:

There are three different Ticket Types. You will need to choose the appropriate one in order to register.

WA State Weatherization (WX) Agency, Tribal, or WA State Department of Commerce Staff: Those who are employees of a Commerce-recognized WA State Wx Agency, a staff member of one of WA State's Tribes (with approval by Commerce), or Commerce staff. The list of Commerce-recognized WA State Weatherization Agencies can be viewed here.

WA State Wx Agency-Associated Contractor: Contractors working under one of the WA State Wx Agencies (see above). At registration, you will be required to list the WA State Wx Agency(ies) you are associated with.

General Public/Non-Associated Contractor: Those who neither work for nor under (as a contractor) one of the WA State Wx Agencies (see above).


Course Description:

This In-Person Building Analyst Technician (BA-T) course is a 3-day training designed to prepare students for all requirements of a Building Analyst Technician and to prepare them for field work involving energy auditing data collection.

BPI BA-T Certification Scheme Handbook and standards documents referenced therein

ANSI/BPI 1200 Standard Practice for Basic Analysis of Buildings

Course Content & Objectives:

• BA-T JTA Domain 1: Building Science

• Describe and identify all basic and complex elements of building science in a home according to BPI JTA

• BA-T JTA Domain 2: Buildings and Their Systems

• Describe and identify all components of a home including their interactions according to BPI JTA

• BA-T JTA Domain 3: Testing and Data Collection

• Identify and perform all building and mechanical testing according to BPI JTA

• Identify and collect appropriate information about building components, mechanicals, baseload, appliances, and health and safety concerns according to BPI JTA

Course Requirements:

• Technology:

• Access to the internet for each person

• Ability to download documents

• BPC provided online Learning Management System – Moodle link to be sent by BPC

• Expectation of attendance and class participation

Prerequisites:

• BPI Building Science Principles Certificate of Knowledge

Assessments and Grading:

• All assessments will be multiple choice question style

• In-progress assessment activities throughout

• One final assessment

• Candidate must achieve a 70% or higher to pass the final assessment
