In attending our course, you will access expert insights, crucial information, and friendly advice that will help you increase your organisation’s income through grant funding.

This full-day Training Course will be delivered in-person with lunch and refreshments included, taking place in London.

Our course is equally useful for novices and people with all levels of experience in fundraising. It will help you increase your organisation income through fundraising and materialise those much-needed projects.

What to Expect

The Get Grants Bid-Writing Course clarifies the grant funding process, so that you leave the course with a more assured approach to the task of grant fundraising. We use our training course to share our insights and experience from inside the world of grant fundraising and grant giving, setting you on the right path and arming you with the information you need to make the best use of your time and energy spent fundraising.


What Topics Are Covered

On our Bid-Writing Training Course, you will cover a range of topics to equip you with a solid foundation of grant fundraising best practice. You will:

  • Discover how to find funding opportunities and how to decide which funds are right for you.
  • Learn different tactics you can use to argue Need.
  • Explore Impact and Outcomes.
  • Investigate common errors, reasons applications are rejected, and top tips for increasing your success rates.
  • Learn how to write funding applications that present your organisation as credible and trustworthy.
  • Understand how applications are assessed and start to look at your applications from the perspective of the funder.

Our Bid-Writing Course sessions are open and conversational, with a mix of group work and individual tasks, offering a friendly and relaxed environment with plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the day.

  • When: Monday 11th May 2026, 10am – 4pm
  • Where: Voluntary Action Islington 200A Pentonville Rd, London N1 9JP

This course will be delivered in-person. Please see individual dates for venue location.

This full-day course will take place from 10am-4pm including a break for lunch. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Getting There: Voluntary Action Islington, located at 200A Pentonville Road, London N1 9JP, is easily accessible by public transport. It’s a 9–10 minute walk from King’s Cross St. Pancras, Euston, or Angel stations, and many bus routes, including 30, 73, 205, 214, and 476, stop nearby. By car, take the M1 or A41 toward King’s Cross, with parking available close to the venue. The centre is open Monday to Friday, making it convenient for both public transport and driving visitors.
