In-House Monetary Appraisals for Tax and Insurance Purposes

A workshop hosted by the University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections with Brock Silversides. Silversides is a member of the National Archives Appraisal Board (NAAB) and has over 25 years of experience as a professional appraiser across Canada. He is the former director of the University of Toronto Media Commons.

Participant will learn how to do “in-house appraisals” under a determined dollar value for donated archives of various media, but also learn when and how to call in a professional appraiser. There will be a “hands-on exercise” for participants demonstrating how various media are valued.

When: November 28 th , 2024, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (6 hours – 1 hour lunch, on your own). To be held at University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections, 3 rd Floor Elizabeth Dafoe Library (Archives classroom).
