Please join us for IN HER HONOR - DETROIT, a five-day experience of art, storytelling, remembrance, and action dedicated to honoring mothers ost to maternal mortality and advancing maternal health justice.
The Detroit stop of the In Her Honor Tour will bring together families, advocates, artists, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and community members for a powerful week of connection, reflection, and collective action. Through film, conversation, celebration, and art, we will honor the lives and legacies of mothers whose stories deserve to be remembered and whose experiences continue to drive change.
This special week begins with a special screening of the documentary Aftershock on August 26 at the Detroit Institute of Arts, followed by an Afterglow reception and discussion. This evening will provide an opportunity for attendees to gather in community, reflect on the film’s powerful message, and engage in meaningful dialogue about maternal health justice and the urgent need for systemic change.
Doors open at 6:00 pm, and the film will start promptly at 7:00 pm.
