About this Event
Early readers and their grown-up companions are invited to a new book club highlighting big ideas to learn about ourselves and others. Each month, participants are encouraged to read a select picture book at home, then join Portrait Gallery educators to discuss the story. During the program, we’ll look at portraits, using art to dive deeper into each topic. Finally, we’ll create fun takeaways for continued conversations at home. Participants can register for one, two, or all book clubs in the series. And if you don't have time to read, join the fun anyway!
This month we'll feature "My Mind is a Mountain" ("Mi mente es una montaña") by Cindy Montenegro Delgado. The book is available at the DC Public LibraryArlington Public Library:
Our summertime series will feature bilingual picture books by authors with Lil’ Libros in preparation for the Portrait Gallery’s Hispanic Heritage Month festival with Lil’ Libros in September.
This program is ideal for elementary school-aged children and their families.
Meet in the G Street lobby of the Portrait Gallery.
