Join Professor Tim Dalgleish, the inaugural Dawson Professor of Young People’s Mental Health, in conversation with Dr Clara Faria
About this Event

Join us for a conversation with Professor Tim Dalgleish, the inaugural Dawson Professor of Young People’s Mental Health, as he shares insights from his pioneering work at the intersection of psychology, neuroscience and clinical care.

A leading cognitive neuroscientist and clinical psychologist, Professor Dalgleish focuses his research on improving how we understand and treat mood, anxiety and stress-related disorders. His work bridges science and practice, translating research discoveries into practical tools and therapies that support the wellbeing of children, young people and adults.

He previously led the Cognition, Emotion and Mental Health Programme at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, and directed the Cambridge Clinical Research Centre for Affective Disorders (C2:AD), a partnership between the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, and the University of Cambridge. His work has contributed to new NICE guidance for the prevention of adult depression, collaborative care for treatment-resistant depression, and the use of cognitive therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in children and young people.

Professor Dalgleish will be in conversation with Dr Clara Faria, NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge. Dr Faria’s research explores eating difficulties and disorders in young people, focusing on early identification and intervention.

Together, they will discuss current challenges, emerging research and the future of youth mental healthcare.
