Join Sir Tim Smit, co-founder of the Eden Project, for an inspiring and thought-provoking discussion on climate action. Explore how innovation and collective responsibility can drive meaningful change for our planet, and why hope—rooted in knowledge—is the key to shaping a sustainable future.This talk is part of the Power Plants project, a new heritage engagement programme from artist Oliver Jeffers, exploring how we generate, use, and value Power to protect and repair our natural heritage. The project is being delivered by a creative team led by the Nerve Centre, including partners the Eden Project, NI Science Festival and National Museums NI. Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Belfast City Council.
About
Tim Smit co-founded the Eden Project, transforming a sterile pit into a world-renowned hub of horticulture and sustainability. He restored the Lost Gardens of Heligan, received a KBE, and numerous awards. A speaker, author, and advocate for regeneration, Tim’s work has significantly impacted Cornwall’s economy and global perceptions of sustainability.
This event has been supported by Belfast 2024 as a legacy of the partnership with the Eden Project.
