Haegue Yang arbeitet mit konzeptuellen Skulpturen, Videos und Installationen, in denen sie industrielle Alltagsmaterialien wie Jalousien, Regale oder Kisten in sinnlich-abstrakte Raumkompositionen verwandelt. Ausgehend von Ordnungssystemen und persönlichen Narrativen thematisiert sie Migration, Moderne und Identität durch Methoden der Wiederholung und Assemblage. Ihre Praxis verbindet formale Klarheit mit emotionaler und kultureller Vielschichtigkeit und spricht dabei sowohl visuelle als auch taktile Sinne an.
Ihre Arbeiten wurden international ausgestellt, unter anderem auf der Biennale von Venedig (2009), wo sie Korea vertrat, im Haus der Kunst München (2012), im MoMA New York (2019), im Bass Museum Miami (2019) und in der National Gallery Singapore (2022).

Haegue Yang works with conceptual sculptures, videos and installations in which she transforms everyday industrial materials such as blinds, shelves or crates into sensuous and abstract spatial compositions. Drawing on systems of order and personal narratives, she explores themes of migration, modernity and identity through methods of repetition and assemblage. Her practice combines formal clarity with emotional and cultural complexity, often engaging both the visual and the tactile senses.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Venice Biennale (2009), where she represented Korea, Haus der Kunst Munich (2012), MoMA New York (2019), The Bass Museum Miami (2019) and National Gallery Singapore (2022).
