In this beginner-friendly workshop, teens and adults will learn the art of cyanotype printing. All materials provided — you'll leave with 4 small 5"x7" prints and the skills to keep creating at home.
We'll cover the history of the medium, then walk through the full process: mixing chemistry, coating paper, composition, exposure, and washing. A variety of objects will be available for layouts, but feel free to bring your own — anything that casts a shadow works (think flowers, feathers, lace, jewelry, stencils, fruit slices, etc.). Note that prints are small, so plan compositions accordingly.
We'll spend some time outdoors in the sun, so bring sunscreen, water, and clothes you don't mind getting a little messy. If it's overcast or rainy, we'll expose indoors with UV flashlights — which creates some cool effects of its own! $45.
