Engage the present moment in this three-hour workshop that's all about letting the "now" drive your choices on stage! Forget about overthinking and trust your instincts. You'll work through exercises focused on grounding yourself in the scene, discovering your intentions in real time, and sharpening your hyper-observation of everything happening around you. We'll explore how to stay rooted in the present instead of planning three moves ahead. Looking to loosen your grip and play from instinct? This class will have you noticing, reacting, and creating truthful, in-the-moment scenes. All experience levels welcome.

About the Instructor - Drew Stroud
Drew Stroud holds an MFA in Theatre Performance from the University of New Orleans, where his thesis explored the importance of improv in the actor's toolkit ("Voices in My Head: An Improviser's Approach to Becky Mode's 'Fully Committed.'"). He has 14 years of experience in improv as a performer, coach, director, and producer.He began doing theatre after being cut from his high school baseball team. He is the co-founder of Capital City Improv in Springfield, Illinois, which he established with his wife, Carly. At Big Couch, he performs with the troupe Sorry, We're Singing, acts as a coach and facilitator, and teaches courses such as Improv 320: Dramatic Improv.
