Iconian
Born in Detroit, Iconian’s musical DNA is rooted in hardcore and death metal. Before ever stepping behind the decks, he was behind the kit—drumming in bands where raw aggression, speed, and intensity were everything. That rhythmic foundation didn’t just influence his DJ career; it defined it. His sets hit like blast beats, blurring the lines between Hardcore Drum and Bass, Crossbreed, Jungle, Breakcore, Industrial Hardcore, and Techno into one relentless sonic force.
His breakthrough came after winning a DJ mix contest hosted by PRSPCT Recordings (Rotterdam, Netherlands), a moment that launched him onto the international stage. Since then, he has brought his high-impact sound to Canada, Colombia, Japan, and in 2019, performed at the beloved Dominator Hardcore Festival in the Netherlands.
Carrying the banners of Necronome Recordings, Triple G Recordings, and underground institutions like Hong Kong Violence and PRSPCT Recordings, Iconian refuses to adhere to genre constraints. His sets aren’t just mixed—they’re performed, driven by the same instinctive energy and percussive precision that shaped his early years behind the drums.

With a career spanning the very inception of Jungle, Drum & Bass, and Hardcore, 8en has solidified his place as a true pioneer of Detroit's underground sound. A founding father of the city's iconic D&B scene, Mark has been ingrained in the genre, focusing on Jungle and the old-school sounds that laid the foundation for modern D&B.
As a former member of Konkrete Jungle Detroit he has shared the stage with countless legendary headliners, helping to shape the culture and sound that continues to thrive today. Now a key member of both Impulse Detroit and Underground Bass UK Radio, 8en remains at the forefront of the scene, keeping the vibe alive and pushing the boundaries of the genre with his original productions with releases on Intaception, Twist, HI-FI Jungle and forthcoming from Dubplate Culture LDN & Underground Bass UK Audio
