Sage is an experimental vocalist, and a beloved member of the local exploratory music scene. Her vocal practice was first inspired by Tuvan and Mongolian throat singing, then Inuit and Chukchi throat singing. And now incorporates aspects of these, extreme metal, sound poetry, and extra-normal vocal technique.She's inspired by insight meditation, industrial music, shamanism and chaos magick. And feminism, queer and trans practice and archism and Discordianism. She's played with a bunch of people and recorded a bunch of things ranging from improvised "shamanic black metal" to contemplative text scores released on Edition Wandelweiser.
The workshop will likely involve exploring timbre in improvisation. And thinking about how we (can) relate to each other and the world through sound. Using your voice is welcome but definitely not required!

Accessibility Information:
The Sullivan Hall is a wheelchair accessible venue, accessible via the footpath on inclined but smooth terrain. The music may be loud at times. It will be well-lit with natural light. There are two accessible all-gender bathrooms located outside the venue, connected via a footpath. The event is alcohol-free and all-ages. The venue is spacious and windows and doors can be kept open throughout the workshop for ventilation. There is no dedicated indoor check-out space, but you can go outside into the garden, or even across the road into the park.
