The quartet Dubucc unites different cultural and aesthetic languages in its music. In a mesh of percussive flow, electronics and conventional and extended instrumental sounds, a dramaturgy emerges in which the overlapping structures and impulsive actions develop a clear presence and intensity.
The three Berliners Alexander Frangenheim, Andreas Voccia and Céline Voccia move in different scenes of improvisation, free jazz, Echtzeitmusik and reductionism and are familiar with each other through numerous concerts and projects. In their collaboration, which began in 2023, they are now meeting for the first time in the context of a joint project. The Senegalese percussionist Dudù Kouate adds an organising element to Dubucc. With his fine percussive flow of sound, he creates a musical space in which the other musicians move in response or in contrast.
The different aesthetic levels allow the players to open up and reposition their respective musical material. The familiar takes on a new meaning and finds new visions.
