Agenda

🕑: 06:00 PM - 09:00 PM
WEEK 1 - 8/9/26 - The Pillars of Improvisation
Host: Mischief Maker

Info: In the first session, we’ll explore the core tenets of improvisation: listening, accepting, and committing. You’ll learn how, through these three steps, we can begin to work together to build a story in an approachable way, without pressure or fear. The focus will be on truly listening to one another, embracing each other’s ideas, and building trust through wholehearted commitment to those shared offers

🕑: 06:00 PM - 09:00 PM
WEEK 2 - 15/9/26 - Exploration of 'the scene'
Host: Mischief Maker

Info: In this second session we take our first steps into scene work; learning about the circle of expectation and how to build scenes by engaging with your scene partner. The focus is on removing the pressure to “generate” ideas and instead encouraging playful, collaborative teamwork

🕑: 06:00 PM - 09:00 PM
WEEK 3 -22/9/26 - Mining the offer
Host: Mischief Maker

Info: Building on the scene work from Week 2, Week 3 introduces the concept of mining the offer. Using the skills developed previously, we’ll explore how to build on the first offer made in a scene—removing the pressure to constantly generate new material and instead focusing on deepening what’s already there.

🕑: 06:00 PM - 09:00 PM
WEEK 4 -29/9/6- Emotional Commitment
Host: Mischief Maker

Info: Emotional commitment and emotional change; all good stories come from an emotional connection with the characters. This week will teach the value of emotional connections within scenes and stories, it will also show how comedy can easily be built out of emotional commitment.

🕑: 06:00 PM - 09:00 PM
WEEK 5 - 6/10/26- Opening Scenes
Host: Mischief Maker

Info: Continue to build on the themes from the first four weeks. Using exercises that will encourage the practice of: listen, accept, commit, emotional change, mining the offer and making clear simple choices. We will also introduce basic story structure and improvise “opening scenes”.

🕑: 06:00 PM - 09:00 PM
WEEK 6 -13/10/26- Building a story
Host: Mischief Maker

Info: At this stage, we’ll begin working towards creating the opening 15–20 minutes of a longer narrative, using all the tools and techniques developed so far. This process will be supported and guided by the instructor, helping you to apply your skills in a more extended storytelling format.
