About this Event
Progress to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality and stillbirths is only possible when it is measurable. This pre-IMNHC session bridges the gap between the ambitious global targets and the frontline reality of health systems. It will focus on the urgent need to strengthen routine health information systems and use of maternal and newborn (MNH) data to accelerate progress towards equitable access to quality care.
The session will bring together MNH programmatic and data stakeholders from countries facing a high burden of maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity and stillbirths to share first-hand experiences in strengthening the collection and use of RHIS MNH data to improve the access, availability, and quality of MNH care. Moving beyond theory, the session focuses on the practical tools and enabling environment required to turn data into action.
The session builds on the Every Woman Every Newborn Everywhere (EWENE) initiative supporting countries to accelerate progress on MNH by prioritizing key interventions for managing routine and complication care for women and newborns. As part of their MNH acceleration plans, countries have prioritized the improvement of the routine collection and use of MNH data.
The session will set the stage for the session ‘Maternal & newborn health data: locally-led innovations for faster progress’ co-hosted by NEST360 that will take place on Monday 23 March from 11am to 1.30pm (Maternal & newborn health data: locally-led innovations for faster progress Tickets, Monday, Mar 23 from 11 am to 1:30 pm | Eventbrite)
