TITLE: Accent-uate Your ImprovDESCRIPTION: Do you struggle to acquire new accents and hold them during a performance? This session will be an introduction to accent wizardry. We'll dance trippingly on our tongues, finesse our faces, and use native speaker examples to put some “pop” in your ”pip pip cheerio”. During the session, you will learn what makes an accent and how accents differ. You will leave with a framework to dissect accents and tips and techniques for learning accents independently.
The session will be heavy on listening and light on physical activity. The examples examined will come from the life experience of the instructor; primarily from Great Britain, the US, and Australia... You will sound like a bonafide Brit or a Texan tumbleweed in no time. Get ready to unleash your inner accent aficionado!
FACILITATOR: Guy Winterbotham
INSTRUCTOR BIO: Guy Winterbotham (he/him) has been on his improv journey with ComedySportz-Richmond since 2017. His other improv passions include Upstaged! - an improvised sitcom, Bardalicious: Shakespeare Improvised and Applied Improv. Particularly the uses of Storytelling in the workplace. He hails from England, Australia, and the US.
