Improv for Retirees

**This is a 7-week recurring in-person course held Wednesdays Noon-2pm September 16- October 28. Instructor is improv instructor, Hayden McGovern.

Improv for Retirees is a fun, welcoming class designed for adults who are embracing an exciting new chapter. Through easy-to-learn improv games and interactive activities, you'll strengthen communication, boost confidence, keep your mind active, and build meaningful friendships—all while laughing a lot.

You'll practice:

• Building meaningful social connections
• Confidence and communication
• Mental flexibility and creativity
• Active listening and collaboration
• Humor, playfulness, and resilience
• Improv comedy!

No acting experience is required—and that's the point! Improv isn't about performing or being funny; it's a practice in saying 'yes,' staying present, and responding to whatever comes your way. Those same skills carry off the stage and into real life: you'll listen more closely, think on your feet, and worry less about getting things 'right.' The result is a sharper mind, a more open outlook, and the kind of confidence that comes from knowing you can handle the unexpected--while laughing!

One of the best parts? You'll be surrounded by others in a similar season of life—people who share your experiences, appreciate the same cultural references, and are looking for meaningful connections, new adventures, and plenty of laughter. It's a chance to build a community with people who are exploring this exciting phase of life right alongside you.

At the end of the session, you'll have the opportunity to celebrate what you've learned by participating in a showcase for friends and family.
