Content
Improvisation is based on listening, accepting, and building on others’ ideas through the principle of “Yes, and ...”. It encourages spontaneity, collaboration, and emotional commitment to create believable and engaging scenes. Improvisers use imagination and mime to bring invisible worlds to life while maintaining rhythm and flow to keep the audience engaged. Above all, improvisation is a fun practice that strengthens communication, creativity, confidence, teamwork, and adaptability.
This program will go through all the basics of improv, with focus on those topics: Listening and Acceptance, Confidence and Spontaneity, Teamwork, Character Work, Relationships, Objectives and Obstacles, Space.

About the Teachers
We're your teachers — Lorenz von Römer and Stéphane Piette. We're two engineers who discovered improv together six years ago, and never looked back. Fascinated by how improv transforms communication, creativity, and confidence in both personal and professional life, we've been teaching and performing ever since.
With years of experience on stage and in the classroom, we've brought improv to audiences across Berlin and internationally, performing in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. In 2023, we founded Check la Lage, a monthly show that unites improvisers from different companies, and were key players, teachers, and coordinators for Liber, a long-standing French-German improv company in Berlin.
Our approach blends simple improv techniques with playful exercises designed to help you think spontaneously, feel more comfortable talking to people, and build real confidence. Whether you're looking to break out of your shell, improve your communication skills, or just have fun in a supportive group, improv is a great place to start.
