Looking to become a better performer in the school play? Want to start acting in those class presentations? Wish you were always the one to have a witty response at a party? All of these traits can (Note: ‘Can’ is a possibility. There are no guarantees in life) become yours if you act now and sign up for “Introduction to Improv.” In this one-week course, you will learn all about the art of comedy improvisation (also known as making stuff up as you go along) - an art that definitely translates to lots of real-life stills. Plus, you have a lot of fun.
Students will learn a variety of improvisational skills that include warm-ups, games, characterization, and more. No theater experience is necessary.
This introduction to improvisation techniques is a perfect class for teens looking to improve their acting ability and learn how to takes risks in a safe environment. Students will be introduced to many improv games and learn how to adapt to any given situation. The skills taught in this class can easily be applied to real-life scenarios such as classroom presentations, job and college interviews, the big prom ask, and much more. Not to mention, you will laugh a lot and meet some other like-minded teens.
Taught by Jason Langin, veteran teacher, performer, and coach, the class is intended to be a fun safe zone to encourage creativity and share a love of laughter.
