Improv 301: Patterns and Games (Sundays 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM)

Patterns help us collaborate. Spontaneous group acceptance/collaboration impresses an audience more than individual cleverness. Pattern work rewards an audience for paying attention and enforces the idea that the show was made especially for them.
In our third level, we explore creating patterns and discovering games to propel your scenes forward. You'll get out of your head and into the show by focusing on your team and what they need.
Dates: The class runs Sundays from 3/22/2026 to 5/10/2026, starting 3/22/2026 and running for 8 weeks.
A showcase will be scheduled as an additional opportunity on an evening during the week of May 17.
Instructor: Celeste Canady
Celeste (she/her) began her improv campaign in 2017 after taking a workshop for noobs at the Coalition Theater. She has since done side-quests in all forms of comedy, even becoming a contributor for famous satire websites The Onion and Hard-Drive. Celeste's main quest in teaching is to buff her student's confidence stat, remove their "stuck in my head" debuff and help them speedrun to improv greatness, all while maxing out the fun level. Her favorite video game series is DOOM and she isn't sure why you're even asking.
Prerequisites: Improv 101 and 201, or equivalent classes at a comparable institution. Email [email protected] with questions.

The Coalition Theater is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Once classes begin, all sales are final. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that prevent you from attending or completing your registered class. While we do our best to accommodate such situations, refunds are awarded only as credit for a future class or shows and are subject to the discretion of The Coalition Theater management. Requests for refunds will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and any decisions regarding refunds will be made at the discretion of the theater.
