Improv 201: Characters and Relationships (Saturdays 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM)

Emotional reactions are the bedrock of improv. In our second level, you will strengthen the skills you built in our Intro class and focus on creating sustainable scenes based on patterns of emotional behavior that inform Characters and Relationships.

Great if you want to dig deeper into improv or if you need to interact with other humans in your day-to-day life.

Dates:The class runs Saturdays from 3/28/2026 to 5/16/2026, starting 3/28/2026 and running for 8 weeks.
A showcase will be scheduled as an additional opportunity on an evening during the week of May 17.
Instructor: Sam Rizzo
Sam Rizzo jumped headfirst into improv at the Coalition Theater after seeing a 501 showcase in 2024 and has been voraciously consuming improv (and Diet Pepsi) ever since. You can see Sam put his improv skills to use on the indie team Slug & Gator and on the new house team! In his spare time, Sam likes to challenge himself with board games, piano, and mathematics.
Prerequisites: Improv 101, or equivalent classes at a comparable institution. Email [email protected] with questions.
Cost: $250 (Early Bird: $220)
The Coalition Theater is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Once classes begin, all sales are final. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that prevent you from attending or completing your registered class. While we do our best to accommodate such situations, refunds are awarded only as credit for a future class or shows and are subject to the discretion of The Coalition Theater management. Requests for refunds will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and any decisions regarding refunds will be made at the discretion of the theater.
