Learn the basics of long-form improv. Students will cover scenework principles like "yes-and" and active listening. Over this six-week period, we'll build the groundwork for comedic improvised scenes that'll jumpstart your love of improv. Classes every Wednesday, July 8th - August 12th from 7:00-9:30pm.

The course will culminate in a student show on the afternoon of Saturday, August 15th at 6pm.

CLASS REQUIREMENTS:

• Students are required to attend 2 improv shows at Mettlesome during the course (students get into shows for free)
• Students are allowed a maximum of 2 absences per course.

INSTRUCTOR: Mandy Benter (she/her) began taking improv classes at Mettlesome in 2022. Since then, she has performed in Harold Night, Show and Tell, House Party, Warp Speed, and the oft-remembered, "How We Drew It Up."

A history teacher by training, she loves engaging with students who don't have to cite their work!
