Improv 101: Intro to Improv (Mondays 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM)

Explore the fundamentals of improv - agreement, commitment, teamwork, spontaneity and listening through fun exercises and group play..

Dates: The class runs Mondays from 01/12/2026 to 03/02/2026, starting 01/12/2026 and running for 8 weeks.

A showcase will be scheduled as an additional opportunity on an evening during the week of March 8.

Instructor: Dee Demetriadis

Dee has been doing improv comedy since childhood, but didn’t realize it until she started taking classes with the Coalition in 2013. Since then, her credits include being a member of the Coalition house team Ambassador, a writer/performer/videographer/production assistant for sketch shows RVA Tonight and Outburst!, and a cast member for the show Short, Fast, and Furious. She has also done over 100 audio-only improv jams online - it's more fun that you think! Currently, Dee runs a monthly improv games program for teens at a local public library and has no plans to move to New York or Chicago.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that prevent you from attending or completing your registered class.
