UTC+01:00Location
Støberiet & Blågårdens Bibliotek | Copenhagen , SK
Two days at Støberiet with a top quality international program of avant-garde and improvised music:
LITTERJUG (DK/PL/LT)
GUNDA GOTTSCHALK (DE)
RAVE/AARDESTRUP/JØRGENS (AR/NL/DK)
JOAO ALMEIDA (PT)
Rave / Aardestrup / Jørgens
This international trio is centered in spontaneous improvisations, sparkling connections and suspenseful instant compositions. Ada originates from Argentina and her instrumental approach is based on research into a wide variety of techniques, conventional and unorthodox, which allow her to create a highly personal narrative in real time composition. Drummer Peter Ole
started playing the same year Ada was born and since then he has played with such great musicians as Peter Brötzmann, Evan Parker, Fred Frith, John Tchicai among many others.
The trio was put together by bassist Jonathan Aardestrup as a vehicle for fearless headon exploration of musical openness and high degree of abstraction.

Gunda Gottschalk plays improvised and contemporary music and combines her sound work with dance, theater, film, composition, visual arts, and literature. From 1994 to 2002, she played in various ensembles with Peter Kowald, including during his project 365 Tage vor ORT (365 Days on Location) and in Peter Kowald's global village Formation.
With her ensembles and as a soloist, she has performed at festivals for contemporary and improvised music throughout Europe and has made guest appearances in the USA, Canada, Russia, Mongolia, China, Myanmar, and Cameroon.

LITTERJUG
Bloodstock themes, cascading drum fills, pumping bass lines, and flamethrower saxophone cries – LITTERJUG is a rollercoaster ride of joyful anarchy.
The band’s explorations are heavily rock-inspired, with a dose of abrasive free flow improvisations. The trio offers contrast-filled, action-packed music, sometimes rocking a simple groove, and other times boldly wandering into abstract territories.
In 2022 LITTERJUG was nominated at Danish Music Awards jazz in the categories “Experimental album of the year” and “New name of the year”.
Andrius Dereviancenko: tenor saxophone, clarinet
Szymon Pimpon Gasiorek: drums, percussion
Asger Thomsen: double bass, composition
Supported by Københavns Kommune and DMF.
