Week 2 - October 15
The Impressionist Revolution
We know the names: Claude Monet, Pierre-August Renoir, Berthe Morisot; Camille Pissarrro; Edgar Degas, and more. Follow the emergence of Impressionism as we experience these artists’ revolutionary approach to light, colors, and modern life.
Week 3 - October 22
Revolutionary Ways of Seeing
Impressionism was never a single style or philosophy. Degas, Mary Cassatt, Cézanne, and Monet pursued different ideas about perception, composition, and the nature of painting. Their experiments reveal a multi-faceted world that shocked the standards of the time.
Week 4 - October 29
Post-Impressionism and World Conquest
The Impressionists liberated artists and ushered in a new century of rapidly changing values and views. Post impressionists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec opened the doors to the modern world … and art has never been the same.
