The purpose of this event is to highlight the vital services and resources that public libraries play in our community. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Norfolk Public Library and Slover Library were closed to the public. On July 1, 2021, the libraries were opened with limited hours and grab and go book distribution. While the Virginia Governor’s Emergency Order was lifted on July 1, 2021, the City of Norfolk remains on a municipal emergency order, which permits the city ot continue operating the Libraries on a limited status.
