Western imperialism has made continual efforts to control Iran, from the US and British coup in 1953 that toppled the government of Mohammad Mosaddegh to its support for the Shah's dictatorship afterwards. But Iran also has a history of revolt and revolution, from the constitutional revolution of 1905 to the 1979 revolution and the recent waves of protest against the Islamic regime.
This meeting will discuss how this history has shaped Iran and what it means for its future.
All welcome to join the discussion.
