About this Event

Join us in Birmingham for our Imperfect Spirituality meet up! We have created this safe, non-judgmental space for anyone who is interested in spirituality, from those who have always wanted to learn more but never got around to it, to those with an established practice.

During the meeting, we’ll complete three simple exercises that are designed to help us connect with our true selves and lead a happier, more fulfilled life.

These are:

  • Study: We’ll look at an extract about a spiritual topic and reflect on it.
  • Meditate: We’ll complete a short, semi-guided meditation together.
  • Serve: We’ll action a micro-act of kindness.

And that’s it!
The first session is £3 for any new attendees (use code FIRSTTIME33 at checkout) , and sessions after that are £25 each.
The meeting will be held on the mezzanine of the Tricorn Cafe at Tricorn House, which is located on the Five Ways roundabout in Birmingham City Centre. If you have any access requirements, please do let us know prior to booking.

Please bring a notebook/pen for the study exercise.
If you are sensitive to noise please bring earplugs/headphones for meditation time

If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to get in touch via Eventbrite!

We look forward to seeing you there,

WHY IMPERFECT SPIRITUALITY?

We created this group because we know the spiritual journey can be a lonely one at times. We also appreciate that starting a spiritual practice can be a confusing and even intimidating process. Recently, words like “spirituality,” “meditation” and “mindfulness” have become very popular, and there are a lot of conflicting beliefs on what those things should look like. It seemed to us that, somewhere along the way, the human side of the journey had been forgotten.

So, we wanted to create a safe place where anybody – regardless of experience, belief or background – can come together and talk about their journey honestly and free of judgement. More importantly, we wanted to share the message that the spiritual journey, like the human one, can be very messy, and that’s totally okay!

OUR INTENTION

We want to provide anyone who feels called to develop their spirituality a place to do so with like-minded people. In doing so, we can raise our vibration one meeting at a time and help make the world a better place. We believe spiritual development is for anyone and has nothing to do with looks, behaviours, eating habits, political views, etc. We welcome spiritual seekers from all walks of life who are willing to abide by our agreements (below).

OUR AGREEMENTS

To ensure everyone can make the best of the space and have an unforgettable experience, we ask that all attendees agree to the following:

  • We ensure that anything that is said in our meetings remains 100% confidential and will not be discussed with anyone outside of the group.
  • We show up with an open heart, grounded in the fact we are all on the same journey of trying to look for the answers to the questions in our lives. Because of this, we attend with humility and empathy, ready to learn and help each other without judgement.
  • We understand that whatever we feel or think about something is just our perception, and although it feels valid to us, it is not the ultimate truth for everyone else.
  • We don’t give any type of advice as every person in the group is responsible for finding their own answers.
  • We make sure that everything we communicate comes from a place of empathy, compassion and curiosity.
  • We show up ready to actively listen to everything that is said during the meetings so that we can gather as much information as possible and help each other in the best possible way.
  • We make sure we are completely sober during every meeting.
  • We promise that we are healthy enough physically and mentally to engage in these sessions.
  • We each take personal responsibility for our actions and any outcomes stemming from Imperfect Spirituality
