About this Event
This is a learning event for renewable energy IPP economic development professionals.
Underdevelopment in rural areas, small towns with limited economic potential and cities and metro’s that were spatially divided, remain South Africa’s legacy. This legacy, accompanied with unemployment and slow economic growth, requires alternative approaches to harvest South Africa’s full potential.
This session is the perfect platform for industry leaders, academics, government officials, policy makers and civil society to explore and discuss these issues within the context of stimulating economic development. With the aim of sharing international best practise and relevant South African experiences on approaches to achieve impactful economic development initiatives.
Economic development is an ongoing priority as we build back better. The relationship between RE IPPs approach economic development and Government (national, and local), are still unclear and serve as a gap to form aligned objectives, for the sector.
