About the Education Policy Symposium
In response to growth opportunities and escalating challenges since the global pandemic, our Leadership Team will host the 2025 Education Policy Symposium to focus on critical issues, barriers and strategies confronting K-12 Education and why advancing health equity matters!
It is a Call to Action to address the social determinants of health (SDH) that unequally leads to health disparities and limits educational attainment, particularly among students and families from low-to-moderate income communities of color in Detroit and beyond.
What you can expect? This year’s Symposium is anchored in our unwavering commitment toward advancing health equity. It will showcase best practice programs, services, and strategies focused on prevention, fostering resilience, and healthy behaviors within the K-12 school setting that optimize student learning and support academic success.
Who should attend? Policy-makers, K-20 educators, health ministry leaders, health educators, health care practitioners, social workers, pre-service professionals (students), neighborhood block club leaders, service delivery providers, nonprofit organizations and community advocates passionate about improving the lives of our most vulnerable school-age youth and their families.
