H.I.K.E. is about taking kids out of the shelters and giving them a chance to explore some of the incredible things that Colorado has to offer. This month we are taking them to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science!Studies show that children who grow up in homelessness suffer from a number of physical, emotional, mental and educational problems. Our hope is to get them out of the shelter environment and around nature, helping them with a educational, physical, and social activities.
Each child will receive:
A new pair of shoes
A new backpack
HIKE t-shirt
Breakfast and Lunch
Water bottles throughout the day
This event does require volunteers that are interested in attending to register in advance (there will be no day of or walk up registrations). Because children are involved all volunteers must submit to a simple background check.
Registration Fee $35
If you're not able to attend but would like to sponsor a child $50
