What is a Sound Bath Meditation?

A Sound Bath is a beautiful meditative concert-like experience where one would witness a certified Sound Healing Practitioner play harmonious notes and sounds created by using various musical instruments like Tibetan/Himalayan Singing Bowls, Crystal Singing Bowls, Gongs, Chimes, Harps, Drums and other resonant instruments. While the participant is encouraged to sit or lay down in a comfortable position, a bath of soothing sound waves and healing frequencies will be sent washing over the body, encouraging deep relaxation and the release of any stored tension, stress and anxiety, while stimulating the brain into a meditative state. The 7 Main Chakra Singing Bowls will each be played near the body and over the associated chakras, for targeted chakra balancing, activation and clearing.

What is a Sound Massage?

During the sound bath meditation, Tibetan and Himalayan Singing Bowls will be placed directly on the body and played. The Weight of the Singing Bowls when placed directly on parts of the body and played, will send massage-like vibrations felt deep within the body, releasing energetic, physical and emotional blockages, while shaking out any stored tension held in muscles, joints and vital organs. The massaging sound vibrations and healing frequencies will force the body's internal systems to reset, even on a cellular level, promoting deep healing. The 7 Main Chakra Singing Bowls will each be placed and played directly on the body, on top of the associated chakras, for targeted chakra balancing, activation and clearing. (Please Note!!! For Safety Concerns, the Singing Bowls cannot be placed or played anywhere on the body that has had recent surgery within the past 3 months; or has any metal plates/metal rods inserted; or on the stomach/torso area if pregnant, or on the chest if have pacemaker. All participants will be asked at the beginning of the session to provide verbal confirmation assuming knowledge of safety concerns and liability).

Most leave a Sonic Sound Bath Meditation + Sound Massage session feeling more balanced, centered and relaxed with any pain, tension or anxiety felt before the session greatly reduced.

This is a full 2-hour intensive healing and clearing sound bath experience where attendees will receive sound therapy from many sound healing instruments as well as a personalized sonic sound massage. 30 minutes extra have been added to allow time for a proper introduction and discussion before and after the session.

Each group session will max out at 6 people so that more personal attention can be given to each attendee. Group sessions will remain small to ensure a safe space for healing. This is not a typical sound bath experience or sound meditation. This experience is only for those serious about starting their own individual healing journeys and are ok with being totally immersed in loud sounds and powerful vibrations.

In a “Sonic Sound Bath", participants will be encouraged to interact as much as possible with the healing power of sound and vibrations. Powerful Sound Instruments like the Buffalo Drum and Tibetan Singing Bowls will be played over and around the body, directing the beat of the drum and vibrations of the singing bowls to be felt deep within. Tibetan Singing Bowls will be played over, around and directly on the body ("Sound Massage"), for a massage like experience. So, it's like receiving 2 treatments in one (Sound Therapy + Sound Massage = "Sonic Sound Bath Massage" = An Intense Vibrational Healing & Sound Bath Experience). By the end of the session, the 7 main energy centers of the body (chakras) will be open and balanced, improving the flow of energy around the body which promotes relaxation, relieves pain, and speeds up healing.

No meditation experience is required. All you have to do during the session is try to relax and be open to receiving the sounds and massaging vibrations from Tibetan Singing Bowls when played over and on the body. You will be encouraged to either sit or lay down on the floor. Chairs are available for those who cannot sit or lay down on the floor. (Please advise before session if a chair will be needed). Yoga Mats, Rugs, Pillows, Towels, Eye Coverings and Blankets will be provided.

No Walk-Ins. No exceptions. The room has to be prepared for the session in advance at least 1 hour before the start of the session. Online Registration is the only Guaranteed Reservation.

To avoid the Eventbrite Fee, you can reserve your spot either by sending payment “in advance” directly to "Mel Rio & The Singing Bowl Sound Bath Studio" by Zelle/Venmo/CashApp/ApplePay or you can pay in person at the door at the "Land of Buddha" no later than 24 hours in advance to hold your spot for the group session. (Message directly to confirm. Based on Availability). Direct payment must include ticket price ($65.00) + 8.8% NYC sales tax ($5.72). Which is a total of $70.72 direct payment is required to hold the reservation.

Cancellations or Refund Requests must be received 7 days before event date. Requests to Reschedule and/or Transfer Tickets to another event must be received 48 hours in advance in order for a transfer request to be granted. Eventbrite fees are nonrefundable. No Shows Attendee tickets will not be granted a refund or transfer request.

Please keep/bring minimal personal belongings. Space is extremely limited. Management will not be responsible for any personal belongings left behind, lost or stolen.

All group sessions are video recorded by the Management for safety and insurance purposes. By attending you agree to be video recorded. Management may use copies of the video recordings at their own discretion.
