About this Event
Imbolc Wild Walk
Join us for a crisp Imbolc Wild Walk at Lesnes Abbey! Celebrate the awakening of nature as we explore the surroundings of the historic Abbey, and look for signs of the changing seasons.
Wild Walks are free events that encourage people to get outside and explore local green spaces. We’ll walk for up to two hours, depending on how everyone feels, stopping along the way to talk about what we’ve seen and get to know each other better. These are not rigid guided walks or foraging walks, but Wild South London trustees will be on hand to point out species, answer questions and encourage walk attendees to share their knowledge along the way too!
About us
Wild South London is a community group which aims to raise awareness of local biodiversity and promote conservation and appreciation of nature. Through walks, talks and hands-on workshops, the group will educate and inspire local people on topics such as sustainable foraging and identification of plants, animals and fungi. They will also show people how to record finds to contribute to local biodiversity data - all while promoting the positive health and wellbeing impacts of engaging with nature.
