Sound Journey with Aleks

Sound journey with the sound priestess

Re-dedication can take place personally. What is it that we want to change and shift in our life? What do we want to commit our energy to?

A sound journey can be a great place to set new intentions. All you need to do is to lie down, relax and let yourself get carried away by the sound. This session will incorporate a mixture of gong, singing bowls and other soothing instruments. We'll get started with a short guided meditation, followed be the sound experience.

OM Chanting with Ramona

Om chanting is a group of participants that chant OM minimum 15min. The vibrational waves created by the OM Chanting practise spreads out in a 2-kilometre radius, creating a harmonious, peaceful environment and a unity between humans and nature. The OM continues to resonate in participants’ bodies after the circle, allowing them to share the good vibrations wherever they go.

Circle Dancing with Kate

Circle Dancing is a mix of traditional and choreographed dances using music from around the world. Some dances are gentle and reflective, some a little more lively. No partner required, no previous experience required as each dance is taught.

Art and Mindfulness with Hazel

During this one hour art taster workshop we will connect to our sacral charka, the centre of pleasure and creativity. We will use art as our tool to focus the mind and stay present in the moment, with several invitations to return inwards to our personal source of creativity. Full instruction will be provided so no previous art experience is necessary, the workshop will be differentiated for all levels.

Open grief session with Douglas

Introduction to grief tending in the community session will give people space to explore their own grief

Using the Five Gates of Grief from author and Soul Activist Francis Weller’s book ‘The Wild Edge of Sorrow’.

  • Gate One: ‘Everything We Love We Will Lose’: ‘Tis a fearful thing to love what death can touch’
  • Gate Two: ‘The Places That Have Not Known Love’ ‘There are places in us that that have been wrapped in shame and banished to the farthest shores of our lives’
  • Gate Three: ‘The Sorrows of the World’ ‘The cumulative grief of the world is overwhelming’
  • Gate Four: ‘What We Expected and Did Not Receive’ – Deep in our bones lies an old intuition that we arrived here carrying a bundle of gifts to offer to the community’
  • Gate Five: ‘Ancestral Grief’ ‘This is the grief we carry in our bodies from sorrows experienced by our ancestors’.

17:00-18:00

Closing Ceremony and Earth Holders

Join us as for our closing ceremony to hold space for our re-dedication to the centre.

Earth Holders Edinburgh is a community taking mindful action for Mother Earth. We practice non-violent direct action for the sake of our beloved planet and all life. We see this as an integral part of our spiritual life, balancing the inner path of mindfulness with the outer path of action. We come from different spiritual traditions, and are open to members of all faiths and none. We draw strength and wisdom from our connection with nature and with the Earth. We are an evolving and inclusive group actively seeking new members.
