Imagine Ecotopia Workshop for Kids & Families
About this Event
Part of Reading Climate Festival’s – a peaceful space to gather in person halfway through the Festival fortnight.
Join Imagine Ecotopia activities in the park at any point between 11:30am and 3:30pm. It's FREE but booking is essential! All materials are provided.
Children and families are invited to explore hopeful futures for Reading through drawing, painting, storytelling and collaborative making activities inspired by ecology, community and imagination.
Throughout the day, participants will help build the Future of Reading Wall — a growing public artwork filled with drawings, paintings, poems and messages imagining a kinder, greener and more connected future for Reading.
Activities will include:🎨 drawing and painting🌱 ecological imagination activities📮 future messages and storytelling🌿 collaborative art-making✨ playful creative prompts
The workshop forms part of a wider series of Imagine Ecotopia creative workshops that are being planned for Reading schools.
The workshops are being delivered in collaboration with Design Nature and The University of the Built Environment, with support from the Climate Action Design School led by environmental engineer and designer Katie Patrick.
The workshop is designed to be open, welcoming and accessible for a range of ages, encouraging children to share their ideas, dreams and visions for the future.
