Imaginari Studio is a three-session series for teens, with each session focusing on one specific medium, providing a more in-depth, technique-focused experience. Students will not only hone their maker skills, but will also be encouraged to find their own unique voice and style within the medium. Each session will host different artists offering varied perspectives on the making process.
Studio: Woodworking
Woodworking is all about transformation. Using hand tools and power tools to measure, cut, shape, and finish, we will reimagine raw lumber into projects that are both functional and beautiful.
Students will learn how to safely use the miter saw, drill press, belt and disc sander, and bandsaw, along with the hand tools you reach for every time: hammers, clamps, squares, and the pencil that always seems to walk away from you. You’ll leave knowing your way around the shop, not just how to follow instructions. That means picking the right tools, cutting with confidence, and knowing what to do when something goes awry. And most importantly, something you made with your own hands.
