About this Event
About this event
LEEDS 2023 are excited to be working on a series of free workshops that aim to make creative software training more accessible to Leeds communities.
Image Editing with GoDaddy Studio
This workshop will teach the basics of the Image editing platform GoDaddy Studio, which will enable you to edit images for anything from presentations to social media. The workshops will cover all the basics to enable you to feel equipped to explore GoDaddy Studio further after the workshops.
Led by Artist (and marketing genius) Lydia Cottrell, the workshop will talk you through all the basics of the software, from opening a project and adding images, to simple editing, adding effects and exporting your work to then be uploaded and shared to any platform you want. Lydia will also signpost to other free resources to continue learning the software in your own time.
The workshop will be interactive, where you will follow what Lydia is doing on your own laptop as they take you through a step-by-step guide to using the software. No previous experience is necessary, we just ask you to come with a laptop and be eager to learn something new with the rest of the group!
Requirements
Attendees will need to bring a laptop. GoDaddy Studio is a really simple program that runs on a web browser and does not need a powerful laptop, whether you have a 10-year-old laptop or a brand new Mac, it will work on any system. Please make sure that your laptop has permission to join public wifi.
The only other thing we ask is that you bring a couple of pictures you would like to edit. We will be providing LEEDS 2023 stock photo images but it’s always more interesting if you are able to work on projects you are invested in.
About the workshop series
Each workshop in the creative digital storytelling series will give you new ways to share your own stories and the stories of the people you work with using free and easy-to-use digital tools.
Across the series we’ll cover:
Video editing using DaVinci Resolve
Audio editing using Audacity
Livestream using OBS, Twitch, Youtube live and Restream
Please keep an eye out on LEEDS 2023 social accounts for more updates and follow LEEDS 2023 on Eventbrite to book on to upcoming workshops throughout the year

This series of workshops have been developed with the support of 100% Digital Leeds
100% Digital Leeds is led by a team in Leeds City Council, working with partners to make Leeds the most digitally inclusive city for everyone.
The approaches they advocate and the resources they provide are informed by their knowledge of common barriers to digital inclusion but they understand that everyone’s digital inclusion journey is different. The reasons for being offline, the motivators for doing more, and the support needed to make the most of digital are always unique, whether thinking about an organisation or an individual.
